Exam Scheme & Paper Pattern
Written Exam
The written exam includes multiple-choice questions and covers the following subjects:
For Admission to Indian Military Academy, Indian Naval Academy, and Air Force Academy:
- English: 2 hours, 100 marks
- General Knowledge: 2 hours, 100 marks
- Elementary Mathematics: 2 hours, 100 marks
For Admission to Officers’ Training Academy:
- English: 2 hours, 100 marks
- General Knowledge: 2 hours, 100 marks
To move on to the next stage, candidates must pass this written exam. The General Knowledge and Elementary Mathematics papers are available in both Hindi and English.
Interview
Candidates who pass the written exam are invited for the SSB interview, which takes place over four days and includes:
Stage I: Officer Intelligence Rating (OIR) and Picture Perception & Description Test (PP&DT). Candidates are selected based on their performance in these tests.
Stage II: This stage includes Interviews, Group Tasks, Psychology Tests, and a final Conference. These assessments evaluate the candidates’ leadership qualities and overall suitability. Marks are given based on performance in all parts of the interview process.
